Brown Fused Alumina F24 Technical Data Sheet: Composition, Properties and Uses

Overview

Brown Fused Alumina F24 is the coarsest grade covered in this data sheet series. It belongs to the CHAOYAN F grit range produced by Luoyang Naibao New Materials Co., Ltd., and it is positioned for bonded abrasives, blasting and industrial grinding. Within the F grit sequence, F24 sits at the coarse end, so it is normally shortlisted for processes that call for a coarse macrogrit rather than a finishing grit.

The product is specified in two columns, A and A-B, which let buyers choose between a tighter chemistry window (A) and a wider, more economical window (A-B). The ranges published here are reference specifications. Guaranteed values for any order follow the agreed technical document and the batch test result, so the figures below should be read as the starting point for an order specification, not as a blanket guarantee for every shipment. Before ordering, confirm the grade, chemistry, particle size distribution and packing in the agreed technical specification.

Chemical Composition

Parameter A A-B
Al₂O₃ (%) 95.00–97.50 ≥93.00
TiO₂ (%) 1.50–3.80 1.50–4.20
CaO (%) ≤0.45 —

The alumina content defines the two columns. Grade A is held to 95.00–97.50% Al₂O₃, while grade A-B starts at a minimum of 93.00% Al₂O₃. Titania sits between 1.50% and 3.80% for grade A and between 1.50% and 4.20% for grade A-B. A CaO limit of ≤0.45% is published for grade A; no CaO figure is published for grade A-B, so buyers who need a calcium oxide limit on the A-B column should have it written into the agreed technical specification.

Physical Properties

Parameter A A-B
Magnetic content ≤ (%) 0.0380 0.0660
Calcination temperature (°C), A grade 1050–1350 —

Two physical parameters are published for F24. The magnetic content is limited to 0.0380% for grade A and 0.0660% for grade A-B, which matters in applications where magnetic residue in the finished abrasive tool has to be kept low. The calcination temperature range of 1050–1350 °C is published for the A grade; no calcination figure is published for A-B. Other physical data, such as bulk density for this grade, is not published on the product page and can be requested when an order specification is prepared.

Particle Size

F24 is graded to the F grit sequence. The product page does not publish fixed distribution percentages for this grade: distribution limits and sieve fractions are confirmed in the agreed technical specification and the batch test report. In practice this means the buyer and Luoyang Naibao agree the sieve limits for the order in writing, and each batch is checked against them. If you work to a particular standard or already use a grit from another supplier, you can send the target standard, the sieve limits or a working sample so the requirement can be checked against F24 production before an order is placed.

Applications and Selection Notes

The published applications for Brown Fused Alumina F24 are bonded abrasives, blasting and industrial grinding. As the coarse grade in this series, F24 is the natural starting point among the four grades covered here when the process needs aggressive material removal in a bonded tool, heavy-duty surface preparation in blasting, or coarse industrial grinding work. Buyers who find F24 too coarse for their finish requirement usually step down to a finer F grade rather than changing material.

A practical selection approach is to fix the chemistry column first (A or A-B, based on the alumina and magnetic content limits your process needs), then agree the sieve distribution in the technical specification, and finally confirm performance with a sample in your own process. Selection notes are guidance only; final suitability should always be confirmed by testing in the actual application.

Packaging and Supply

Brown Fused Alumina F24 is supplied in 25 kg bags or jumbo bags, with pallet options available; the exact packing and labeling are confirmed per order, consistent with the product page instruction to confirm bag or bulk packing and labeling with the order. Samples are available so the grade can be evaluated before a bulk commitment. The full English product data sheet can be downloaded here: Download the F24 PDS (PDF). When sending an inquiry, include the grade, application, quantity and any target chemical or size distribution requirements so the quotation can be prepared against the right specification.
