Brown Fused Alumina Chemical Composition: Reading the PDS

Read published Al₂O₃, TiO₂, CaO and model specific rows without confusing ranges, samples and guarantees.

TECHNICAL GUIDE / 2026-10-02

Short answer. Read chemical values by product family, exact model and specification column. A published series range is a reference; the agreed technical sheet and batch test report establish the order's limits and actual result.

What the published specification contains

The published CHAOYAN technical specification provides F and P abrasive model bands with Al₂O₃, TiO₂ and CaO values and separate A / A-B or A-P1 / A-P2 columns. For selected individual grits it also publishes five-component sample rows. Those sample rows belong only to the named model; they must never be pasted into a neighboring grade's sheet.

The English product pages and PDFs carry the applicable published band and model specific physical row where available. Refractory grain and fine powder pages may lack numeric chemistry in the published product information; those sections say so and request the agreed document rather than inventing values.

How to review an offer

Ask the supplier to name the test method, units and grade column beside every limit. Compare the PDS to the quotation and sample label. If a value is not in the published specification, mark it as to be agreed; do not treat a blank public cell as a zero or a hidden guarantee.

For a supplier change, test the candidate batch under the same method used for the current material. Chemistry is one dimension; particle distribution, particle shape and process behavior may also matter.

Selection guidance

Send the exact product URL or model, required chemistry limits, application and quantity. Ask for the matching PDS and proposed order specification before approving a sample.

Common mistakes

  • Presenting a model sample composition as a guarantee for every batch.
  • Copying values across F, P, refractory grain and powder families.

Frequently asked questions

Does every product page show numeric chemistry?

No. Pages without approved numeric values request the agreed technical sheet and batch report instead of inventing them.

Which values control delivery acceptance?

The limits in the agreed technical document and the test result for the delivered batch.

Specific chemical, size and performance values are subject to the agreed product specification, technical agreement and batch test result.
