Brown Fused Alumina F60 Technical Data Sheet: Composition, Properties and Uses
Overview
Brown Fused Alumina F60 is the finest grade covered in this data sheet series. It belongs to the CHAOYAN F grit range produced by Luoyang Naibao New Materials Co., Ltd., and it is positioned for bonded abrasives, blasting and industrial grinding. Within the four grades documented here (F24, F36, F46, F60), F60 is the step buyers take when the coarser grades leave a finish that is too rough for the process.
F60 is specified in two columns, A and A-B: grade A carries the tighter chemistry window and grade A-B the wider one. The ranges published here are reference specifications. Guaranteed values for any order follow the agreed technical document and the batch test result, so the figures below are the basis for an order specification rather than a guarantee covering every shipment. Before ordering, confirm the grade, chemistry, particle size distribution and packing in the agreed technical specification.
Chemical Composition
| Parameter | A | A-B |
|---|---|---|
| Al₂O₃ (%) | 95.00–97.50 | ≥93.00 |
| TiO₂ (%) | 1.50–3.80 | 1.50–4.20 |
| CaO (%) | ≤0.45 | — |
The chemistry windows for F60 match those published for the other grades in this series: grade A at 95.00–97.50% Al₂O₃, grade A-B at a minimum of 93.00% Al₂O₃, titania between 1.50% and 3.80% (A) or 1.50% and 4.20% (A-B). A CaO limit of ≤0.45% is published for grade A only. No CaO value is published for the A-B column, so a buyer who needs one should have it written into the agreed technical specification.
Physical Properties
| Parameter | A | A-B |
|---|---|---|
| Magnetic content ≤ (%) | 0.0260 | 0.0540 |
| Calcination temperature (°C), A grade | 1050–1350 | — |
The magnetic content limit for F60 is 0.0260% for grade A and 0.0540% for grade A-B — the lowest limits published among the four grades in this series, continuing the tightening pattern from F24 (0.0380 / 0.0660) through F36 and F46. Low magnetic content is relevant where magnetic residue in a finished bonded tool or on a blasted surface must be kept to a minimum. A calcination temperature range of 1050–1350 °C is published for the A grade; no figure is published for A-B. Bulk density is not published for F60 on the product page and can be requested when an order specification is prepared.
Particle Size
F60 is graded to the F grit sequence. The product page does not publish fixed distribution percentages for this grade: distribution limits and sieve fractions are confirmed in the agreed technical specification and the batch test report. Sieve limits for an order are therefore agreed in writing between the buyer and Luoyang Naibao, and each batch is tested against them. If you are matching an existing supply, you can send the target standard, the sieve limits or a working sample so the requirement can be checked against F60 production before ordering. This matters more, not less, on finer grades, because small shifts in the coarse tail of the distribution can show up directly in the finished surface.
Applications and Selection Notes
The published applications for Brown Fused Alumina F60 are bonded abrasives, blasting and industrial grinding. As the finest of the four grades documented in this series, F60 is the candidate when a bonded abrasive or grinding process needs a finer finish than F46 delivers, or when a blasting operation needs a finer grain for a smoother prepared surface. If F60 still cuts too aggressively for the target finish, the F grit range continues finer than F60 and the next grades can be reviewed on the F grit series page; if removal becomes too slow, the step back is F54 or F46.
The recommended selection sequence is the same as for the coarser grades: choose the chemistry column first (A or A-B, based on the alumina and magnetic content limits the process needs), then fix the sieve distribution in the agreed technical specification, then validate with a sample in your own process. These notes are guidance only and do not replace testing in the actual application.
Packaging and Supply
Brown Fused Alumina F60 is supplied in 25 kg bags or jumbo bags, with pallet options available; exact packing and labeling are confirmed per order, in line with the product page instruction to confirm bag or bulk packing and labeling with the order. Samples are available so the grade can be evaluated before a bulk order. The full English product data sheet can be downloaded here: Download the F60 PDS (PDF). When sending an inquiry, include the grade, application, quantity and any target chemical or size distribution requirements so the quotation is prepared against the correct specification.
