TECHNICAL GUIDE / 2026-10-02
Short answer. CHAOYAN lists a refractory brick use case and graded refractory grain. Select the required fractions and powder from the brick formulation, then confirm all material limits in the technical agreement.
Specify the raw material role
A refractory brick may call for aggregate fractions, fine powder or a combination. The CHAOYAN product catalog provides separate grain and fine powder models, plus a dedicated refractory brick use case record. A purchase inquiry should state which form each line item represents.
The target chemical composition and particle size distribution depend on the buyer's brick design. The public product records do not justify copying one formula's values onto every refractory product. Ask for the corresponding product PDS, then write the approved limits into the order sheet.
| Brick input | Buyer provides | Supplier document |
|---|---|---|
| Aggregate | Fraction and grading | Grain PDS / batch result |
| Fine material | Powder model and test | Powder PDS / batch result |
| Manufacturing | Forming and firing context | Trial record |
Check the material in a brick trial
Label and test each candidate fraction. Hold the remaining formulation and production settings stable where possible. Record the brick properties required by the customer's application; raw grain data alone does not establish finished brick performance.
If the trial identifies a need for a nonstandard fraction, agree the upper and lower bounds, sieve method and packing label before repeat supply. Preserve the accepted sample and test report as references for later batches.
Selection guidance
Start at the refractory brick product and relevant grain or powder page. Include the proposed fraction, chemistry limits, annual quantity and target batch report format in the inquiry.
Common mistakes
- Using a castable grade assumption without checking the brick formulation.
- Merging several fractions under one unlabeled product code.
Frequently asked questions
Does CHAOYAN have a refractory brick product record?
Yes. The CHAOYAN product catalog includes a dedicated refractory brick use case record.
Are brick performance values in the raw material PDS?
No. The PDS documents brown fused alumina material data; finished brick performance needs a manufacturing trial.
