TECHNICAL GUIDE / 2026-10-02
Short answer. Vitrified grinding wheels are a bonded abrasive route. CHAOYAN's catalog places wheel applications with F grit; choose a model by the wheel design and validate it in the actual manufacturing process.
Start from the wheel design
FEPA's public abrasive overview includes vitreous bonding among bonded abrasive types, and its grain standards identify the F series for bonded abrasives. CHAOYAN lists a distinct product use case for ceramic or vitrified wheel grain within its F grit range.
The raw grain request should include the intended wheel, work material, current F grade, particle size distribution and chemical acceptance limits. If firing or bond behavior is under review, describe the production process without assuming the raw grain alone determines the result.
| What to compare | Raw grain document | Wheel trial |
|---|---|---|
| F designation | Product page / PDS | Hold grade constant |
| Chemistry | Agreed technical sheet | Review process effect |
| Size distribution | Batch result | Record structure |
| Performance | Not in grain PDS | Test finished wheel |
Trial discipline
Label each sample with model and batch. Run the candidate through the same mixing, forming and firing or curing route used for the comparison material. Record any process change separately, then compare the finished wheels under the buyer's test method.
If a shape or distribution adjustment is needed, document it as a new specification. The order should name the accepted material values and batch report requirements so repeat supply can be checked consistently.
Selection guidance
Open the vitrified wheel use case product page and the candidate F model PDS. Send the wheel type, current grain, technical sheet, trial quantity and expected repeat volume in the inquiry.
Common mistakes
- Assuming a grit grade proves suitability for every vitrified bond recipe.
- Failing to distinguish raw grain acceptance from finished wheel testing.
